Title The Sensational 2006 "La Garrigue" From the Chabrier Brothers
Attachment
Bulletin The wonderful white wine with the impossible name is back. The 2006 vintage of Duché d’Uzès “La Garrigue” d’Aureillac from Vignobles Chabrier Fils is ready and every bit as delicious as the extremely popular 2005 vintage. See 'Selections' to find out about Patrick Chabrier, his purple hands and much more.

This truly sensational wine is made from 80% Viognier and 20% Grenache Blanc with a yield of only 35 hectolitres per hectare (13.8% alcohol by volume). Half of the Viognier was fermented in new French oak barrels and left on its lees for a year. It is a pale yellow with an intense nose of anise and dried apricots. In the mouth it is full and very well balanced with a pronounced flavour of stewed apricots and a hint of pineapple. It would work well as an aperitif, go wonderfully with any shellfish and, as a special treat be a divine partner with warm goat cheese. This is a great wine from a very good year. If I could only have one more bottle of white wine costing less than twenty dollars a bottle, this would be it. It comes in six-bottle cases and costs $19.95 a bottle, $119.70 per case (including $1.00 per bottle handling fee) Order now – quantities are limited, first come, first served. We will be placing the order for this wine on Tuesday, January 22nd. Don’t miss it!

Jim & Hélène.
