Title Last Call - The Cahors wines of Château Famaey
Attachment ArthursCellar_Vol7Iss8_Ch_Famaey.pdf
Bulletin We will be taking our order for the marvellous wines of Château Famaey to the LCBO on Wednesday, October 3rd. Don't miss this opportunity to get some of these superb wines from Cahors for yourself.

The legendary black wines of Cahors were a favourite of the English and the Popes of Avignon in the Middle Ages, and now it is your turn to discover the superb, fragrant, elegant, stylish and extremely satisfying AOC Cahors wines of Château Famaey!

Luc Luyckx, passionate co-owner of Château Famaey, introduced us to the wonderful world of Cahors, and we are thrilled to share these award winning wines with you, our members. The highly respected French Dussert-Gerber Guide describes Château Famaey thus:

“Château FAMAEY = 1er GRAND VIN Classé 5 étoiles”.

You will face a difficult choice – or you can try them all! We are presenting the 2004 Cuvée Tradition, a delightful bargain at $15.50, the 2003 Élevé en Fût de Chêne, a powerful, very full-bodied wine at $23.00, and the very special 2003 Cuvée X, described in my notes as ‘Super!” at $37.00.

  • Why are the wines of Cahors named ‘black wines’?
  • Where is Cahors?
  • How are these great wines made?

Find all the answers in the attached issue of ‘Selections”!

Please spread the good news to others who might be interested.

    Many thanks and cheers,
