Just a few things to report before Hélène and I wend our weary ways off to Provence for the first twenty-one days of September (I can just hear the sympathetic sighs): |
Domaine de Trévallon
We have decided to delay shipping the superb wines from Domaine de Trévallon until October to make certain that they are not exposed to any undue heat while in transit. Thus, the new closing date for orders has been extended to Friday, October 15th.
|
Domaine la Croix Chaptal and Champagne Forget-Brimont
We want to remind you that the closing date for orders of the wines from both of these fine wineries is Friday, August 27th. We want to make certain that you receive them in time for the holidays.

2008 Tradition from Château Famaey
We sadly ended our relationship with Luc Luyckx and his Château Famaey in Cahors a year or so ago because we were unable to generate enough wine club interest in the fine Malbec wines produced by this excellent winery. However, those members who did enjoy these wines will be delighted to know that the entry level, unoaked 2008 Tradition will be available at many Vintages outlets this Saturday for only $12.95 a bottle. By the way, Luc has just become a grandfather. His son Maarten recently had a baby daughter named Zoe.

That’s not our Château Robin!!
The 2006 Château Robin that is currently available at Vintages (product #171249) for $17.95 is not our Château Robin. This one comes from Lussac St Emilion which is located just a few kilometres away from Jérôme Caillé’s estate in the Côtes de Castillon. Jérôme has never heard of the Ch. Robin currently at vintages and the only information I can find is that it is referred to as a ‘supermarket wine’. I have not tried it; but the few members who have told me it wasn’t very good. Please let me know what you think when and if you confront it.

O!France Tour de Provence – late September, 2011
The bed chambers of Hélène’s Castle in Goult are quickly filling up, but there are still a few lovely rooms available. Please get in touch with Hélène if you would like to join the court or would like additional information about this visit to Provence fit for a king and queen.

Soon to emerge from Arthur’s Cellar
We will be offering you the wonderful wines from Domaine Chabrier Fils, Domaine Roger Sabon, Domaine de Palon, Les Cuvées du Firmament and Château Beauferan over the next couple of months. And, who knows, we might just sample a bottle or two on your behalves whilst in France (work, work, work)!
Cheers!
Jim & Hélène
