Last Call - Château Robin and Vignobles Chabrier Fils!
Attachment
Bulletin
We will be taking our orders for the excellent red Bordeaux from
Château Robin
(including the sought after 2005 vintage) and superb 2006 white from
Vignobles Chabrier Fils
on
Tuesday, January 22nd
. These are truly wonderful wines and I urge you to consider them seriously if you haven’t already done so.
Jérôme Caillé
has just bottled his
2005 Château Robin
, and he tells us that it is his best yet. While very young and restrained at the moment, this Côtes de Castillon hatchling will open up and become a high flying beauty (sorry, I couldn’t resist) over the next twelve months or so and keep wonderfully for many years thereafter. Its composition is the customary 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and this year Jérôme is making it available in three formats –
half-bottles, regular 750 ml bottles and magnums
. And the really great news is that for Arthur’s Cellar Wine Club he is keeping the
price the same as for previous vintages!
We are also bringing back the very good and very popular
2003 and 2004 vintages
(currently drinking very well) of Château Robin as well as a
mixed sampler case
of four bottles each of the 2003, 2004 and 2005 vintages. In addition to winning numerous awards and earning many citations, Château Robin is served in business class on Singapore Airlines. For additional information about the winery, please see '

The wonderful
white wine
with the impossible name is back. The
2006
vintage of
Duché d’Uzès “La Garrigue” d’Aureillac
from
Vignobles Chabrier Fils
is ready and every bit as delicious as the extremely popular 2005 vintage. See '
Selections
' to find out about Patrick Chabrier, his purple hands and much more.
This truly sensational wine is made from 80% Viognier and 20% Grenache Blanc with a yield of only 35 hectolitres per hectare (13.8% alcohol by volume). Half of the Viognier was fermented in new French oak barrels and left on its lees for a year. It is a pale yellow with an intense nose of anise and dried apricots. In the mouth it is full and very well balanced with a pronounced flavour of stewed apricots and a hint of pineapple. It would work well as an aperitif, go wonderfully with any shellfish and, as a special treat be a divine partner with warm goat cheese. This is a great wine from a very good year. If I could only have one more bottle of white wine costing less than twenty dollars a bottle, this would be it. It comes in
six-bottle cases
and costs
$19.95 a bottle, $119.70
per case (including $1.00 per bottle handling fee)
Order now
– quantities are limited, first come, first served.
Please pass this note on to others who you think might be interested in some wonderful wines at very reasonable prices.
