Bulletin Ah … spring time!! Will it ever come? Perhaps this invitation will brighten things up and serve as a harbinger of warmer days ahead.



For those of you not lucky enough to have dined at Jake’s before, please visit www.jakesgrill.ca to find out all about this wonderful meeting place and to get directions. Jamie Myers, AKA ‘The Big Oyster’ is conjuring up a wide array of sumptuous hors d’oeuvres and appetizers to tickle your palate and to go with the marvellous wines selected for the evening from Arthur’s Cellar (see attachment for wine details). And, if that’s not enough to warm things up, our old friend Graham Nutter, proprietor of Château Saint Jacques d’Albas (www.chateaustjacques.com) in the Minervois region of southern France will be there to regale you with his latest adventures (he’s stopping by on his way back from New Zealand) and give you the inside story about his wines. He will also give you a word or 500 about the superb wines that will be featured from his close neighbour, Château Rives-Blanques (www.rives-blanques.com).

I should warn you … the Big Oyster believes in generous servings of everything, so bring a big appetite and best to arrange for a designated driver or taxi.
