Oh sure, Provence is all very nice!

http://www.arthursellers.com/images/ofclip_image014.jpgProvence is just ducky. But if you ask me, the scenery, history, weather, markets, people, food and other attractions get far too much attention.

The 2012 court at the château
The same goes for Hélène’s Provençal tour which will be the week of September 21st to 28th this year. Oh sure, you get to stay in Le Château de Goult, a lavishly restored 14th Century castle in the hilltop town of Goult in the Lubéron (Peter Mayle country). Big deal. Some might think that no packing and unpacking once you settle into your completely modernized mediaeval chambers is spiffy. Meh. Leisurely day trips in a private, chauffeur-driven Mercedes mini-bus to places like the Mediterranean port of Cassis, the perched town of Les-Beaux-de-Provence and the storied town of Aix-en-Provence are just swell … if that’s your thing.

The colourful Provençal markets
And then, at the end of each day, after inspecting colourful Provençal markets, Roman/Greco antiquities, olive oil mills and bustling villages, you get to relax with a crisp local Rosé by the château’s pool. Ah, now we’re getting somewhere. Then there are the sumptuous dinners prepared by a local culinary wizard; each complemented by a selection of the finest wines from Arthur’s Cellar. Much better still. Conversations flow, the day’s activities are recounted, lasting friendships are formed and the good fellowship lasts well into the night. Peachy keen, I guess!!

But, let’s fully consider the real reason Provence is so special. In my humble opinion it’s … The Wine!!!

Côtes du Rhône, Gigondas, Châteauneuf du Pape, Vacqueyras, AOC Ventoux, Costières de Nîmes and the odd bottle of Champagne thrown in for good measure. They’ll all make an appearance on Hélène’s tour. Yum!

So there you have it … the real essence of Provence. Just sayin’, mind.

Hélène has completely revamped her O! France website, so if you insist on seeing all the pretty pictures and learning about those secondary attractions of southern France, who am I to stop you? But, to taste all the great wine, come join us this September.

Cheers!
