Designed to beat the bad weather blahs, this event is completely sold out. And, all of a sudden the weather is much, much better. Just a coincidence? We think not.   Spring Time in Paris at Jake’s Grill and Oyster Bar in Burlington - The Evening of April 24 The ‘Big Oyster’ tells us that reservations are coming in quickly but there is still room for you to join us and Graham Nutter of Château Saint Jacques d’Albas (www.chateaustjacques.com) at a very special wine and appetizer tasting at Jake’s Grill and Oyster Bar - just off the Queen Elizabeth Way on Walkers Line in Burlington. Incidentally, Graham’s 2004 “Le Château” is featured in the recent edition of Decanter magazine as One of ‘Lawther’s Languedoc: Top 10 To Try’ and you can do so at Jake’s. The festivities start at 6:30 PM and will include seven great wines from Arthur’s Cellar expertly matched with a sumptuous array of hors d’oeuvres prepared by Jake’s chef. I should warn you … The Big Oyster believes in generous servings of everything, so bring a big appetite and best arrange for a designated driver or taxi. Provence - Visit the Source of Arthur’s Cellar We only have room left for two couples on our next Provençal pilgrimage. Hélène has booked the Bastide Saint-Albergati, a magnificent country home near Avignon for the week of Saturday, September 13 to Saturday September 20, 2008 and two luxurious bedrooms remain available on the very private third floor overlooking the beautiful grounds. She will look after virtually everything once you are there - splendid day trips to local markets, quaint villages, ancient ruins, wineries, convivial restaurants and so much more.
