Dear Arthur’s Cellar Wine Club Member:
Domaine Les Lys We found out about Domaine Les Lys entirely by accident. Several years ago we were invited to a raucous Swiss fondue party by the Chabriers (owners of Domaine Chabrier Fils) and bumped into one of the owners of the Les Lys winery, located not far from the Chabriers. He convinced us to try his wines. We enjoyed them very much, particularly the Rosé and Chardonnay-based white wine. So, we happily took them on and their wines have been delighting our Members ever since.
Marie-Hélène Veyrunes and Thomas Faure had worked at the winery for several years and when the owners decided to sell, they couldn’t pass up the chance to realize their life-long dreams. They pulled together the required resources and acquired this excellent vineyard and wine making facility that is located in the countryside near Uzès in southern France. The winery has been producing delightful wines for several years now, but based on our recent tasting, It think that Marie-Hélène and Thomas have been able to take them to an even higher level.
2015 ‘La Soif’ Rosé – 12.5% Alc./Vol. LCBO #377654 $15.95/$95.70 case of 6
Your Orders and the Looming LCBO Strike
The unionized LCBO employees are threatening to go on strike next Monday, June 26th. But, there is still time to order and receive your ‘La Soif’ Rosé (and Champagne Forget-Brimont) if you agree to pay an extra $12 for Canada Post to deliver your order (no matter how large) to your door. I have just ordered five cases of ‘La Soif’ this way. The folks in Specialty Services at the LCBO are going to be working all weekend to make certain your orders get out to Canada Post.
Should you know anyone who would like to seriously slake their thirst this summer, we would be delighted, nay veritably thrilled, if you would pass this note on to them.
Many thanks and cheers!
