Title The Robin is heading north (west) again!

Bulletin Untitled Page

Although our local robins are sensibly heading south for warmer climes, we are delighted to let you know that Jérôme Caillé of Château Robin has released a few more cases of his lovely Côtes du Castillon (a rapidly ascending Bordeaux appellation near Saint-Emilion and Pomerol) from the excellent 2005 vintage to replace them. We have tried several bottles of this Merlot-based beauty over the past coupe of weeks (it was a stand-out at the Freemen’s wine tasting evening) and were delighted each time.

The 2005 Château Robin is available in six-bottle cases (magnums are also available in three-bottle cases; please get in touch if you are interested). We will be taking your orders to the LCBO on Thursday, December 4th.

2005 Château Robin     (14.0% Alc./Vol.)                          $28 per bottle/168 for a case of 6
This beautiful Côtes de Castillon is made from 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from vines with an average age of forty years. The yield was a low 37.3 hl/ha and it was aged in new and used oak for twelve months. It is concentrated, rich and powerful but also smooth, silky and round. This wine is elegant ... a pure pleasure to drink now and it will evolve nicely for the next fifteen years. Gold medal winner at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris, March 2007, rated 16/20 in the Gault Millau and 87/100 by the Wine Spectator. Order some pure pleasure now.

Note: The above prices include a $1 per bottle handling fee.

Cheers,

Jim and Hélène
